Savannah, GA (March 20, 2008) -- Savannah Mall’s new owners are bringing creative vitality and breathing fresh air to the expansive property on Savannah´s southside. The most obvious addition is the mall´s free-access, $250k children´s Playtime area, which is slated for a grand opening on Saturday, March 22.
“When dad is visiting Bass Pro with their toddler in hand, patience will be rewarded with lunch at the food court, a carousel ride, and now a romp in the new Playtime soft play area,” states Tom Bradley, Vice President of JSS Advisors LLC, and mall general manager.
Of the new multimillion dollar investments at Savannah Mall, Bradley shares, “Our new ownership has the resources and the commitment to open up the mall to the community, and these are the first of many more initiatives on our shoppers’ behalf.”
The family friendly Playtime Center addition will benefit youngsters (under 42 inches tall) and parents visiting Savannah Mall. Specially designed with a Savannah/Coastal Empire theme, the soft Playtime Center features Plantation House, River Boats and Seafaring Birds. Parents and children are amazed at the cushy softness of the entire area, including the floor.
Located under the Target Court´s skylight dome (near Target and Burlington Coat Factory), the play area installation is expected to be completed by Friday, March 21, and will be open during mall hours (Monday-Saturday, 10am-9pm; Sunday noon-6pm) exclusively to young children. Note: Savannah Mall will be closed on Easter Sunday.
Mr. Bradley points to the Playtime Center as the first evidence of a dozen capital improvement projects that are slated for Savannah Mall in 2008. A million-dollar new roof is nearing completion. A new interior tree planting program is bringing more green space to the mall’s public interior corridors.
The nearest mall entrance to the Playtime Center area is the entrance between the food court and Burlington Coat Factory, which has just been retrofitted with new brick pavers. For additional information please contact Senea Crystal, Marketing Manager of Savannah Mall, at 912-927-7467.
